What is Heartgard Plus?

Heartgard Plus is a potent oral treatment formulated for the prevention of heartworm disease in dogs and puppies from 6 weeks of age. With Ivermectin and Pyrantel Pamoate as active ingredients, these beef-flavored chewables eliminate the tissue stage of heartworm larvae, thus preventing heartworm disease. This monthly treatment is also indicated for the treatment and control of roundworms and hookworms.

How Does Heartgard Plus Work?

Heartgard Plus is made with two active ingredients: Ivermectin and Pyrantel Pamoate. Ivermectin kills heartworm larvae and keeps the parasite from growing, preventing heartworm disease. Pyrantel Pamoate, on the other hand, effectively treats and controls infestations caused by roundworms and hookworms.

• Ideal to protect dogs and puppies from heartworm disease

• Suitable for dogs and puppies from 6 weeks of age

• Administer the chewables every month, orally, preferably on the same date
• The first dose must be given within 30 days of the dog’s exposure to mosquitoes
• The last dose should be given within 30 days of the dog’s last exposure to mosquitoes

• Designed for use in dogs only
• Before starting the treatment, all dogs must be tested for existing heartworm infections
• Make sure that the dog consumes the entire dose
• Store between 68°F - 77°F (20°C - 25°C), away from direct sunlight
• Keep away from the reach of children and pets
