Panacur Granules – Worm Treatment for Cats

Panacur for Cats is a broad-spectrum worm treatment designed to treat infections caused by various gastrointestinal parasites. Formulated in an easy-to-administer granule form, it is effective against immature and mature stages of common worms. Additionally, this intestinal worm treatment also treats specific infections of lungworms. When administered as directed on the label, Panacur for cats is effective against:

Intestinal worms

Indicated for the treatment of the following infections:

  • Roundworms (Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina)
  • Hookworms (Ancylostoma spp., Uncinaria spp.)
  • Tapeworms (Taenia spp.)

Lungworms

  • Indicated for the treatment & control of lungworm (Aelurostrongylus abstrusus) infections.

Adult Cats

  • The standard recommended dosage for adult cats is 100 mg fenbendazole per 2.2 lbs of body weight as a single dose.
  • In case of natural re-infection, repeat the treatment.
  • Adult cats with minimal exposure to infection should be treated 2-4 times a year.

Dosage Guide

  • 1 g sachet/dose treats 4.4 lbs of body weight as a single dose (1.1 - 2.2 kg).
  • 1.8 g sachet/dose treats 8.8 lbs of body weight as a single dose (2.3 – 4.4 kg).
  • 4.5 g sachet/dose treats 22 lbs of body weight as a single dose (4.5 – 10 kg).

Weaned Kitten

  • The standard recommended dosage for weaned kittens under 6 months of age is 50 mg fenbendazole per 2.2 lbs of body weight daily for 3 consecutive days.

Dosage Guide

  • 1 g sachet/dose treats 8.8 lbs of body weight, dosed daily for 3 consecutive days (2.2 – 4.4 kg).
  • 1.8 g sachet/dose treats 17.6 lbs of body weight, dosed daily for 3 consecutive days (4.5 – 8.0 kg).
  • 4.5 g sachet/dose treats 44 lbs of body weight, dosed daily for 3 consecutive days (8.1 – 20 kg).

Lungworms

  • To control lungworm (Aelurostrongylus abstrusus), administer 50 mg fenbendazole per 2.2 lbs of bodyweight daily for 3 consecutive days.

This treatment is for oral use only. Consult a veterinarian before administering it to your cat. Keep it out of reach of children, pets and uninformed people. Wash your hands after handling.

Precautions

Panacur only kills the Taenia species of tapeworms. Avoid direct contact with the skin and inhalation of granule dust. Talk to a vet if you see tapeworm segments in your cat's stool after using this treatment.

Contraindications

This treatment is not indicated for kittens below two weeks of age.
