Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions

What is Frontline Plus?

Frontline Plus is a topical treatment for your dog's protection against common external parasites, including fleas and ticks. Suitable for puppies and dogs from 8 weeks, it protects from fleas, different tick species, lice and mites for one month.

Which parasites does this topical protect my dog from?

When used as indicated on the label, Frontline Plus protects dogs from fleas, brown dog ticks, black-legged (deer) ticks, American dog ticks, lone star ticks, chewing lice and sarcoptic mange infestations.

Is there a minimum age for dogs to use this treatment?

This monthly topical treatment is suitable for puppies and dogs from 8 weeks of age, weighing 5 lbs or greater.

How does this flea and tick treatment work?

Frontline Plus for dogs contains fipronil and S-methoprene. These active ingredients are spread over the dog's skin and are localized in the hair and in the sebaceous glands after application. These glands act as a reservoir and continuously replenish the formula, protecting throughout the month. Fipronil targets adult fleas and ticks, whereas S-methoprene works on life stages, preventing the laying of eggs and inhibiting the development of larvae and pupae.

How soon can I bathe my dog after applying this treatment?

The dog should be dry at the time of treatment. Avoid bathing your dog for 24 hours after the application.

Is it safe to use Frontline Plus with other treatments?

It is recommended that you use Frontline Plus with other treatments only under the guidance of a veterinarian. Talk to your vet before combining it with antibiotics, anesthetics, antihistamines, steroids, NSAIDs or other topical treatments.

Is Frontline Plus safe for pregnant dogs?

Typically, Frontline Plus is considered acceptable for use in breeding, pregnant, and lactating dogs when used as directed on the label. However, you should talk to a vet before using any treatment on a pregnant dog.

Is Frontline Plus waterproof?

Frontline Plus for dogs is a waterproof treatment. This topical formula stays effective even after bathing or water immersion. However, you should ensure that your pet remains dry for 24 hours after application.

My pet had contracted fleas two months back. While I was searching for a good treatment online, I came across this site. The prices were so amazing that I bought the treatment instantly. And it worked successfully. My pet is now clear of fleas and I don't see any signs of recurrence too. Frontline Plus is certainly a good product indeed!
