Profender for Medium Cats is a topical worm treatment. It is designed to treat and control infections caused by common intestinal worms. This wormer for cats comes in an easy-to-apply topical form, eliminating the stress and hassle of giving a pill to your cat. Typically, just one application is effective and often a second treatment may not be required unless there is a reinfection. When used as directed, Profender topical wormer for 5.5–11.0 lbs cats is effective against:

Intestinal worms

• Indicated for the treatment & control of hookworm (Ancylostoma tubaeforme) infections.
• Helps treat & control roundworm (Toxocara cati) infections.
• Aids in the treatment & control of tapeworm (Dipylidium caninum & Taenia taeniaeformis) infections.

Active Ingredients

Emodepside 15.0 mg, Praziquantel 60.1 mg

Indicated for

Cats 8 weeks of age or older, weighing between 5.5 and 11.0 lbs.

• Broad-spectrum worm control: Effective against common gastrointestinal worms that can infect cats, including roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms.
• Simple application: Easy-to-apply topical form prevents the need to give a cat a pill.
• Just one treatment: A single application treats and controls worm infection without the need for a follow-up treatment unless the cat is reinfected.
• Safe for kittens: Suitable for use in kittens from 8 weeks of age.

• Read the product label thoroughly before application.
• Weigh your cat and select the pack that closely matches its weight.
• Remove the applicator from the pack just before use.
• Hold the applicator upright and remove its cap.
• Turn the cap over placing the other end of it onto the applicator tip.
• Twist the cap to break the seal and remove the cap from the applicator.
• Part your cat's hair on its back between the shoulder blades at the base of the head until the skin is visible.
• Squeeze the applicator after placing its tip on the cat's skin and empty the entire contents.
• Lift the applicator away from the skin before releasing pressure on it.

This product is for topical use on cats only. Wash your hands after handling the treatment.

Precautions

This topical formula should be used with caution in sick, debilitated, and heartworm-positive cats. Consult a vet before use. Do not let the cat lick the application area for one hour after application. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should avoid direct contact with this product or wear gloves when applying.

Keep this treatment away from the cat's mouth or eyes while applying. Do not allow children to come in contact with the application site for 24 hours after application. Keep the treated cat separated until the application is dry to prevent other pets from licking the treated area.

Contraindications

Profender is not recommended for kittens under 8 weeks of age or below 2.2 lbs of body weight. The safety of this topical has not been evaluated in breeding, pregnant, and lactating cats. The efficacy of this treatment when applied before bathing has not been evaluated.

Do not administer this treatment orally. Avoid applying it to broken skin and on a wet coat. It is not indicated for use in humans.

Store at or below 77°F (25°C). Protect it from freezing.
