Advantage Multi (Advocate) – Monthly Flea & Worm Treatment For Cats

Advantage Multi (Advocate) for Cats is a multi-spectrum topical monthly treatment. It is designed to protect cats against a range of internal and external parasites. This spot-on cat treatment features a rapid onset of action. It kills fleas on contact, stops reinfesting fleas from biting within 3-5 minutes and kills them within one hour. With regular monthly use, moxidectin, one of the active ingredients in the treatment, reaches a steady state, providing persistent protection even between doses. When used as indicated, Advantage Multi Spot On for cats protects against:

Fleas

  • Kills adult fleas and treats & prevents flea infestations.
  • Helps control the larval stages of fleas in the treated cat's environment.
  • Reduces the incidence of Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD).

Heartworms

  • Prevents heartworm disease (Dirofilaria immitis).

Intestinal worms

  • Treats & controls roundworms (larval, immature & adult) and hookworms (larval, immature & adult).

Mange & Mites

  • Weigh your cat and select the dosage pack that closely matches their weight.
  • Take the applicator out of its pack.
  • Hold the applicator upright and pull its cap off. Reverse the cap and push it back on the applicator.
  • Break the applicator seal by twisting the cap.
  • If your cat is wearing a Seresto collar, do not remove it before the application. Remove any other collar and put it back on the cat once the application is dry.
  • Your cat should be in a standing position when you are applying the treatment.
  • Part your cat's fur between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the applicator tip on the cat's skin and squeeze it.
  • For comprehensive flea control, you should treat all cats in the household with vet-recommended treatment.
  • Before using Advantage Multi, test your cat for existing heartworm infection.
  • To prevent heartworm disease, start treating your cat one month before the first exposure to mosquitoes.
  • This topical formula stays effective after shampoo treatment, swimming or exposure to rain.
  • If you are bathing your cat between doses, use a soap-free shampoo.
