What is Credelio for Dogs?

Credelio for Dogs comes in the form of highly palatable beef chews and is formulated to treat dogs and puppies from 8 weeks of age, weighing at least 4.4 lbs. It is indicated to kill adult fleas and treat and prevent flea infestations. The treatment also treats and controls tick infestations caused by lone star ticks, American dog ticks, black-legged ticks, brown dog ticks and longhorned ticks. It is further indicated to prevent Lyme disease by directly killing black-legged ticks. Credelio can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD). This oral chew delivers 100% effectiveness against fleas without 12 hours throughout the month.

How does it work?

Credelio for Dogs is composed of lotilaner as its active ingredient. It is an ectoparasiticide belonging to the isoxazoline group and inhibits insect and acarine gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA)-gated chloride channels. This inhibition blocks the transfer of chloride ions across cell membranes, causing uncontrolled neuromuscular activity, leading to the death of insects and acarines.
